Biography – “I have a passion for partnering with my clients to help them meet the challenges in their lives.”
With 39 years of experience providing individual, group, and couples therapy for adults, I have a passion for partnering with my clients. I utilize a strengths-based approach to help them meet the challenges in their lives. My areas of expertise include depression, stress and anxiety, relationship matters, women’s issues, LGBTQ issues, and concerns related to the aging process.
Of particular interest and expertise for me is working with grief and loss issues. I have worked with both death and non-death loss my entire clinical career and have developed and taught graduate-level courses on grief therapy.
Additionally, I have given numerous presentations on the subject. Another area of great interest is my work with members of the military and their families through my connection with Military OneSource and Tricare. I am honored to work with these dedicated service members, and I’m inspired by the resilience they and their families demonstrate while coping with extremely stressful situations at home and abroad.
In addition to my clinical work, I spent 17 years teaching as Clinical Faculty in a Twin Cities MSW program that specializes in training clinical social workers, and I have also served as an agency internship supervisor. I received my MSW degree at the University of Minnesota and am licensed through the Minnesota Board of Social Work. I also carry the advanced accreditation of ACSW through the National Association of Social Workers, and I’m a Board member for the Minnesota Coalition for Death Education and Support.
