Biography

208

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I offer clients an opportunity to discover the power and healing of transformation.   I have extensive experience working with clients from older adolescents to adults, as well as addressing issues related to aging.  My areas of expertise include trauma, grief and loss associated with death, chronic illness/pain, life transitions and life losses, including divorce, job loss and separation/relocations, and women’s issues.  Change is focused in the past, however, transformation can happen in any given moment.   Social work recognizes an individual’s right to self-determination, and my approach to therapy is from a strength-based perspective, utilizing a cognitive/behavioral/integrative approach.

I am trained in Somatic Experiencing Therapy to help clients resolve traumas associated with abuse (sexual, physical, emotional, verbal), medical trauma, car accidents, and other traumas.  I also work with clients in recovery.  For those clients who desire Christian counseling, I am available to provide a faith-based approach to therapy.  I help clients make the necessary shifts in life so they can get what they need, heal from their losses, and find HOPE.   In addition, I provide bereavement ministry training programs for churches and other organizations. I speak locally and nationally on issues related to grief/loss, trauma, stress, and bereavement ministry.  I look forward to respectfully coming alongside you on your journey in life.
