Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker

Location: White Bear Lake

Biography

With over 30 years of experience, I am passionate and committed to helping my clients in the treatment of anxiety, depression and stress, as well as providing therapy in the areas of parenting, grief and loss, relationship issues, women’s issues, and issues related to aging.

I utilize a variety of disciplines in my practice, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), psychodynamics, and mindfulness. I believe in the power of laughter as a healing medium. I am inspired by my clients and truly feel honored that they have chosen to work with me.

When not at work, you can often find me “watching the birds,” since I am an avid birder. I also enjoy reading, knitting, making jewelry, and attending theater, dance, and concerts. I love walking, biking, and travel. I live with my partner, John, who can be found at the helm of his sailboat, racing. I will frequently crew for him when he officiates races on White Bear Lake. We have two children, Tom and Lara, and one granddaughter, Sophia, who brings us great joy and entertainment.

I previously worked at the Center for Human Development (therapist and owner) and in the White Bear Lake school district as a special education coordinator and social worker. I hold a Master of Social Work from the University of Minnesota, and have a bachelor’s degree from Milton College, Wisconsin. I am licensed through the Minnesota Board of Social Work and have the advanced accreditation of ACSW through NASW.
