Biography - "I am committed to tolerance and diversity with the goal of making lives better and reducing pain and discomfort."

With experience in professional psychology practice since 1974, I provide individual, couples, and family therapy and Psychological Assessments for adults, adolescents, and children.  I am committed to tolerance and diversity with the goal of making lives better and reducing pain and discomfort. My specialty areas include adolescents, limit-testers and manipulators, addictions, relationship counseling, depression, and anxiety reduction.

I received my PhD in Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Psychodiagnostics. My diverse experience includes working as a Psychologist; Marriage, Family, and Child Counselor; Substance Abuse Counselor; University Instructor; and an Employee Assistance Program Coordinator and Counselor in state, county, and federal governments. I have worked in community agencies, schools, hospitals, and private practice.

I have counseled runaway children and adolescents, facilitated convicted drinking-driver treatment groups, treated military personnel and those with substance abuse and eating disorders, and assessed, treated, and trained inmates and prison staff. I have also taught undergraduate and graduate psychology classes.

Other areas of experience include working with those with sleep disturbances, depression, suicide issues, anxiety, stress (including PTSD), anger management, substance abuse, impulse control, psychosis, and sex abuse/offender issues.

I am married with two daughters and a son, and I enjoy reading, travel, hiking, bicycling, jogging, swimming, music, movies, plays, and socializing.
