Biography - "I have developed the passion to assist others in defining their personal goals, exploring ways to utilize their strengths and values, and empowering them to make positive change."

Over the past 20 years, I have developed the passion to assist others in defining their personal goals, exploring ways to utilize their strengths and values, and empowering them to make positive change.  I often employ a mind/body/spirit philosophy of healing and integrate mindfulness, spirituality, and meditation within my practice, if desired by my clients.  I also provide traditional counseling using attachment, Gestalt, family systems, and psychodynamic theories.  I especially enjoy working with adults and adolescents 15 and older.  I have focused my training and experience working with women’s issues, including domestic violence and issues surrounding power and control, co-occurring mental health and substance use issues, personality disorders, co-dependency, family response to addiction, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, and issues related to conduct/behavior in adolescence.

I am licensed as both a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor.  I enjoy combining knowledge from the fields of mental health and substance use recovery to provide an integrated approach to resolving concerns raised by my clients and their loved ones.
