Psychological Assessment / Testing
Psychological assessment (testing) offers a formal way to understand traits, feelings, beliefs, and abilities that can contribute to problems people may be experiencing. Some of the questions that we can answer through the use of psychological assessment include:
- Social and emotional functioning
- Relational or work difficulties
- Intellectual abilities
- Cognitive difficulties
- Diagnostic clarification
- Boosting therapy progress
- Personality type
- Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Executive functioning
A psychological assessment is conducted by a psychologist and is a time-intensive process. It is an in-depth, formal assessment and evaluation that involves the administration of a variety of standardized psychological tests. The process generally begins with a detailed interview, which may involve talking to multiple important people in your life, if necessary. Psychological testing typically takes place over several testing sessions, each scheduled for 2-3 hours. Feedback is provided both in a face-to-face feedback session and in the form of a written report, which includes detailed recommendations tailored to you.
Chemical Dependency Assessment
We offer limited chemical dependency assessments with a qualified, mental health professional who can help you identify areas of concern. An assessment involves an extensive, personal interview to gain a comprehensive understanding of your chemical use and its impact in your life. Then, the assessment is typically followed up with a second appointment, where recommendations are discussed, and a course of action is determined.
We do NOT provide the following:
- Rule 25 CD Assessments
- Department of Transportation CD Assessments
- Assessments that Require a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor
